I need a new caliper carrier, as my drivers side brake squeals when slowly rolling. The guide pin in that brake does not slide any more. I got a new Oem guide pins set but when going to insert new pin it was tight. Passenger side was fine. So my question it when I site selling these things say RH or LH from which point is it from?. Driver seat position or outside looking at the car.

Shouldn't use copper grease on brake sliding pins- use the correct rubber grease or silicon grease. Copper grease will cause the rubber gaiters to swell and let water in and then rust will begin. Again... :)

Thanks for the replies. Cleaned out the hole and put in the grease that came with the pins. The caliper slides freely once the pin is in then after a while it stiffens up again.

IIRC you get a little sachet of red rubber grease? I did mine on the L series I had before. I've also had to do 4 Pajeros all round as previous people had used copper grease and it knurdled the rubber seals. I've done it myself many times before, but not any more!

I got a sachet of grease with the kit with TRW on it but it was white. Whole kit was in a land rover box. I am thinking that the carrier hole has had it. I have looked at it twice now.
