Picked up my 04 2.5 v6 sport on Friday and it's in the garage already. Looks like the head gasket has gone or the liners have slipped or the whole cooling system is up the shoot.

All started with engine warning light and running ruff but not showing hot on the gauge. Think I might get rid as soon as it's done I can see this car being a pain in the wallet.

I don't think one (or both) of the head gaskets have failed, what you are describing is most likely an ECU or periferal sensor problem.
If the garage have not already sugested a full scan I'd seriously think about engaging another garage.

........... gawd I should get you to analyse my motor!

You've diagnosed a headgasket failure and cooling system failure just off one light!! and didnt even lift the bonnet to check oil & water ....................

AMAZING!! INCREDIBLE!!!

Forgot to say, the car would not link up diagnostics, the radiator was cold, and water in header tank was brown. He tried to carry out a block test but it wouldn't presurise.

I've used this garage before and trust them they are an independent land rover garage.
