Yesterday I finaly killed my Alternator,

I am thinking of a replacement that will be bigger the the 100Amp one that is on there,

I see that a V8 one looks the same, and I gather is 150Amp, can any one confirm that one will fit, and be ok.

I have attached some pics so you can see which one I have.

A V8 has a 100amp alternator some even have a 65amp one fitted, there's no need for 150amps.
There were 4 change points for a 100amp alternators fitted to V8s so best to stay with one similar to what u have.
The AMR pt no shown is not not used for a V8

Thank you for that I have seen a couple of 150amp ones I was thinking that when I got the Winch Fitted - Hopfully in the next few months, that the extra power would be helpful when running the winch, especialy at night when all the lights are on.......:D

This has come about as I been looking into a dual battery system, but with the Soundown Snorkel the room infront of the Air box is taken up, so fitting in a battery there is a no no.

I'm going for second battery in mine Stu, think it'll be far better in the long run than a more powerful alternator.
Just put one in the boot then use the power cable from any BMW you find in the scrapper. Job done.

Could do, but I use the dicky seats as I got four kids, and would not like a battery kicking around in the back, but will have a think about it.

Thanks for that Chris, your always good for thinking outside the box on things like this.

Just wondering can you get twin diffs:confused::confused::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:, lolol

Yer pain using the seats. Would have mounted in place of one of them. Might be enough room under the front seat.

I'm gonna take spares and change them through.the day!
