Hi intrested how your mpg figures worked out,i have a 05 td4 hse
and i also want a remap done but know nothing about this sort of thing could you give me any advise as what to sort of remap figures to have done-Dave:)

Hi, I have been thinking about getting my 01 td4 remapped and I was looking at a company in County Durham, I'm just wondering who you went with?

Aaron

Remaps can make people smile again when driving lol got mine done and I love it. Only issue is there are some questionable companies, cars with damaged manifolds and blowing up mentioned all over the internet. As always buyer beware, we've had a couple of manifolds to do lately, but none from the guy we use

We don't do chips or remaps ourselves but often get Mike from Dynachip a very experienced remap specialist to come to our garage and do them at a discount of £250 (we make nothing on this, just host the day for him to benefit customers as he charges I think it's £300 to come this far north) Dynachip profesional ecu remapping who always come highly recommended and we usually have at least 6 vehicles for him to do hence discount. We should have him coming up again in the new year if you want to drop us a call or email [email protected] or 07711995264 if you're interested. We're based in Birtley.

That's a fair way south from here ;) I'd be interested in making the trip though.

Hi sijwhite,

The Synergy2a+ still makes me smile every day.

Makes the Freelander into a real 'Q'-car, wolf in sheep's clothing, mate.

Singvogel.

p.s. Would you perhaps like your name in any other colour?

It's a reference to being a subscriber to the forum. The blurb says your username will be displayed in red. So, naturally, I wondered why mine wasn't.

I'm thinking about the Synergy but I've only recently replaced the original MAF with a new Bosch one.

Sorry I'm corrected the discount is £200 from Dynachip. If you're genuinely interested or a maybe drop me a message and once we have enough suitable dates from interested folks will book up

Right here are some facts and figures about re-mapping your'e Freelander.
I am now seeing returns on diesel of 31 mpg.Up from 25 mpg.The power is a hell of a lot more responsive especially the low down torque, not really noticed much at top end but not that bothered about that.I got my re-map done from a friend so was done quite cheap. All i will say is go to a company that understand Land rovers that way you will get a map that is done specifically for your car and not just a generic map.Heard some good reports about County Durham re-maps these guys are very knowledgeable about Land rovers.Do your home work and ask the right questions there are no guarantees with a remap a lot of it depends on the condition of your engine a good garage will do a full diagnostics check before they map.Like i say mine suits me fine and i am well pleased with the results especially mpg as i do about 20000 miles a year.By the way mine is 2004 TD4 AUTO with no expense spared serviced very regular.

Well it's a new year so I thought I would treat myself. The landy has had it's re map and I am 100% happy with it. It feels like I'm driving a new car!
For anyone that is thinking of getting it done I full hartedly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

I've been driving with my Synergy 2a+ for a couple of months now and very happy with the results. I went for the additional switch that let's you select different remaps for different occasions (even whilst driving) and have found this most valuable. With the switch in 'performance' mode, it seriously flies. I've suprised a hell of a lot of people around town when pulling away from junctions and overtaking. It's very useable and makes for a sportier ride whilst still offering a minimal improvement on mpg over a reasonable journey. Obviously, if you've got a seriously heavy right foot and drive like a chav in a stolen Subaru that might not be the case! Flick the switch into 'Eco' mode and its a different beast. Although the performance isn't as sporty, its still quicker than standard with increased torque lower down and smoother delivery over a wider rev range but the best bit of all is the fuel saving. I spent time with the inlaws in Leeds at Christmas which meant a 140 mile drive up the M1 at a comfortable cruising speed. To my disbelief I managed an average of 36 mpg! I've done this same journey many times in my MGF and it hasn't been far off the same...

So I'd definitely recommend the little plug in box for your Td4. It might be slightly more expensive than just an ECU remap but the convenience of 'plug and play' and that switch allowing you to select 'performance' when you need it and 'Eco' when you want to save fuel just makes such a difference and worth the extra initial pennies!!!!

Oh, and I don't have any ties with Rover Ron. I'm just a happy customer...
