hi there i have an 02 disco td5 with 113000 miles having a few probs like missfire /surging around 1500 revs always when cold intermiten when warm also if floored when you lift off she runs on a few secs before slowing down a bit like over boost /scarry . i have replaced feul pump,filter and asy ,feul regulator ,injector harness cleand out ecu ,maf map etc and every plug i can see removed egr and remaped ecu engine sounds a bit clatery when not running good and quite when runing good dont know what to check next any ideas please help :doh:

have you checked the turbo wastegate isn't seized?
 
IMO mr. johnlad has a point here, supported by RAVE >
"The clutch switch is located at the rear of the engine compartment on the RH side. The switch is operated by hydraulic pressure when the clutch pedal is pressed. The ECM uses the signal from the clutch switch for the following functions:
l To cancel cruise control if operating.
l To provide surge damping during gear change.
Surge damping stops engine speed rising dramatically (engine flaring) during gear change. Surge damping assists driveability as follows:
l Smoother gear change.
l Greater exhaust gas emission control.
l Improved fuel consumption."

so if i unplug the clutch switch would this make her run realy rough or how do i test the switch if faulty :confused:
 
if you unplug it it wont be working, and if it aint working now unplugging it wont make any difference, they cost about £25
 
cheers johnlad i no the thrust bearing is fooked. but for 25 quid i will change the switch anyway is that price from lr dealer or where

cheers to all turns out to be the injector seals washers new ones fitted now and drives fine with no missfires or surging a long holl 4 months to get there :)
