Right then folks help needed... whilst off-roading i find that my brake pedal will sometimes go to the floor, i have had this prob before with bearings but despite fitting new ones the problem still persists allthough not as bad or as much, just that sometimes when i hit the pedal it goes straight down, hit it again quick and its then fine, only seems to happen when off road and sometimes on road when cornering quick, new pads and discs fitted allround, despite truck has been into garage after garage this still happens with no solid answer to the probo why it occurs. so anybody out there with some constructive thoughts on this plz help...

it can only be pad knock off caused by play in one of the bearings (had similair fault with a group 4 Escort Ari Vatanens) years ago it turned out to be an inner wheel bearing was worn and no amount of adjusting would get rid of it, air in the system would give the it all the time.

yeah you remember that time after i had bearings done and they left em slack its kinda like that again, but i've had bearings done again and again by various garages...

where they left them loose I wonder if the inner race has worn into the hub and now no matter how much tightening will not cure it

so whats gonna cure it then, i'm used to it but jaynes not to happy off-roading it. gets a bit arse twitchy now and again...

round in circles, had all new bearings front and rear, and discs and pads allround, this is getting stupid on the bearings lost count on the sets now fitted and never seams to get any better...

yep sounds like they have put the cheapest ****e bearings in they could get (normal small garage trick to maximise profit)

so you reakon it's still a bearing prob again then with poss warn hubs then, i had new hubs abt 2 yr ago fitted by bg landrovers in monmouth and it was big bucks..

or other thing ive just thought of, are the calipers securely mounted as there could be bit of movement in them if a bolt hole has become elongated. Or are we going completely the wrong way and should be looking at the master cylinder for a possible sticking piston in the bore?
