Following a dead battery and it's renewal I seem to have lost all sounds except parking sensors. I have checked relevant fuses, but electrics are not my strong point and wonder if I'm missing something. It seemed to happen when the battery went completely flat the first time.
I followed the procedure for disconnection and reconnection of the battery and finally doing the steering lock to lock and everything else but the sounds seems to have rebooted. Anyone have an idea of what I should be looking at; or is it a trip to an auto electrician?

Should have said it's a 2003 diesel Vouge

Cheers

Is there an option to enter a pass-code to re-enable it.

On my P38 a security feature locks the radio if the batter dies/is disconnected.

I have to enter the pass-code to activate it again.

I think the only pass code is for an engine immobilizer which Iv'e never activated although you could be correct. I have had a look through the workshop CD but cannot find anything on the fault finding for this problem.

I should also have said that the display for the radio/CD worked off the left hand button is also inoperative.

check the ESP sound amplifier in the boot panel to the left hand side. Unplug this and check that there is no water in the connectors. Mine short circuited a few times because of this. You should be able to see if the ESP is connected as well on the SAT NAV display.

had a similar prob with mine but the screen was totally dead too. garage pulled all fuse and no joy so went to an independent landy garage an they pulled fuse 49 and left it out for 5mins an this does a hard reset of the multimedia system. after that all systems were good. might be worth a try.

Thanks for your replies.

I will try pulling fuse 49 for 5 minutes and check the sound amplifier too and report back.:)

Did all the checks and still no joy although it has bought back to life the sat/nav which was inoperative for a year so not a wasted 20 minutes! Also tried pulling fuses 22 and 40 along with 49 to see if that helped but still no sound or display for the radio or CD. The telly works but without sound too.

Any other clever people out there please?

Happy to half help! Lol. not much help on the sound bit. although we have had alot of rain and you could have water ingress to the sound amp. Maybe look for signs of water in the spare wheel well.

I had issues with my Range Rover, it was the sat nav unit in the boot. Theres a vent which leaks water into the bay. I ended up removing the units and drying them out for a few days.

Thanks all. The problem started about two weeks ago ( during a dry period- for a change) and seemed to be related to the battery having a total failure. It may be related to me trying to charge the battery on a trickle charger in situ that hasn't helped -as the alarm did not appreciate the mixed signals. The boot and everything within appears dry and the electrics corrosion free so I'm thinking it may be something more expensive than a reboot;but having had previous experience of RR electrics with a P38 live in hope that it may come back to life shortly:confused2:

My sat nav screen has gone blank and no working. Also the stereo works, but no volume control on unit or steering wheel buttons too....where is fuse 49 ?....my handbook only lists them to 44 (E.M.S.)!!...this is all after having the blend motors.o rings and matrix replaced...hence dash and console fiddling etc....possible cable connection problem you think ?.....thanks for reading and help.
just realised this is for the L322 not P38....explains the lack of fuse LOL.....whoops
