L322 phone

Have a 07 L322 which I use the bluetooth connection with a SE K850i, this only allows me to make and receive calls, it does not carry over the phonebook. Wondered whether I'm better to get a phone that fits into the cradle on the central armrest.

Does anyone have experience with the bluetooth and other phone connection.

I had the same quandry - used my Samsung on Bluetooth in my 2006 TD6 Vogue which served me very well and I thought it was great.
Just recently got a phone to fit the cradle - a Nokia 6230i. It works just the same on Bluetooth outside the cradle, but when I set it in it gives me more features :
Charges itself,
Shows up the name of the person calling,
Allows me to call up my address book and call from the touchscreen,
Boosts the signal strength,
Lets me text from the touchscreen - not sure if this is useful or not.
Never really have to touch the phone when it's in the cradle.
Certainly worth a try.

Thanks for that, will now need to find a cradle, as it seems bizarre that LR does not fit the cradle only the fixing where the cradle attaches to.

Also need to sort out a suitable Nokia phone.

They must have changed some of the software as my brother has a RRS 08 which syncs the phonebook via bluetooth from his Nokia

I think it also depends on the phone's bluetooth profile - some phones allow full interchange of information with a handsfree kit - address book, voice dialling etc - others will just allow basic functionality ie call handling.

Mercedes do that as well in their Viano MPV's, the cradle you have to buy separately while the main fixing point is there. I guess it's because they don't know what phone the end user is going to have so leave the option open while at the same time knowing the customer is going to have to spend extra £££ on getting the correct cradle.
