L320 range rover sport cambelt tensioner mounting failure

Hi guys and girls, I posted a thread a year ago regarding my 2007 range rover 2.7 tdv6 it just cut out when driving and upon a small inspection I could see the Offside inlet camshaft carrier had snapped!!
So a year later and I've finally got around to getting the car up to where I live now!!
Today I started to strip the covers off to see what the cause was, and I can confirm it's the cambelt tensioner mounting point that has snapped off the oil pump!! So it's going to be a body off job and I'm going to replace the heads and sort the old girl out!!

Does anyone think it will be worth me sorting the broken bits and trying to see if it starts and runs??

I will do I'll hopefully be getting the body off next weekend and sorting it then so I'll keep this updated

Unfortunately yes!! I could replace the heads without removing the body but it's a ball ache and will probably be more time consuming!!

Yep it's the turbo/manifolds that would be the worst thing to get off in situ!! So I'm just taking the body off! Luckily I can

Thats a ridiculous design error. The Mercedes v6 3.0d oil cooler oil seals are another stupid bloody error as well. Luckily you can... Pictures for those of us who are just plain nosey

As a mechanic I can confirm a lot of car manufacturers are t***s!!

As a RR bodgerer I can assure you many mechs are too

got the joys of having this in at work the other day and the want for one of these is unreal!!
