Hi everyone!!

I'm totally fed up with my freelander!!!

I've owned a couple of freelander's and have always managed to fix the many problems we all have with them, apart from this time!!

The problem I have is a rotational sort of knocking noise from the rear when turning on full or near full lock. The noise doesn't normally happen for the first few miles but when it does it sounds like its coming from the rear passanger side.

So far I've changed the following

New propshaft bearings
New VCU
New rear diff mounts
New rear drive shafts
Tried another propshaft

I've checked exhaust mounts, wheel bearings, springs

Has anyone had this same problem??

If anyone can help it would be very much apreciated!!

I really don't know a lot about gaylanders, but I'm pretty sure the symptoms you're describing aren't engine related ;)

Sounds more like a problem with the rear diff to me ;)

I suggest you set fire to it :)

Hi All

I have had the same knock with my TD4 LRF. It turned out to be the front outer CV joints. Sound travels along the chassis.

Good luck

might sound daft. Have you got the same tyres on front and back?
might be one tyre turning faster that the others??
it used to happen with an audi i had.
