Just had to take my Freelander 1 (52 plates) in after calipers froze on right wheel. The engineer said a slider had failed to the piston and they replaced both the brake pads etc on front wheels (all under the warranty). Now, 24 hours later the left wheel is knocking like its a tumble dryer full of rocks. You can't hear it outside but you can feel it inside the car. Going to get it back in before the warranty ends but does anyone know why it has done this? Have they not balanced the wheel right. My wife said it looked like the left wheel was wobbling. Could the mechanics be that stupid?

first post should be to say hello in the introduce section

mine did that and it turned out to be the driveshaft cv joined was knacked :(

Thanks for this, have now said HELLO, just got excited. Thanks for the possible heads up but why would it go after a month of perfect driving after the mechanics took of the front two wheels to replace the pads? Seems strange.

it might not be that, i was just saying thats exactly what mine sounded like.

oh and stop saying your excited, the tratter mob will extract the Michael well they will anyway cos they think freelanders are effeminate and useless.

We, of course, know better :)

hello, i have same problem but my mechanic said it is the link pin arm and don't cost that much to replace. i've had that knocking noise for over 12 months now
