key fob resink for freelander 52 plate

hi all u landy owners hoping 1 of u can help me.i have changed the battery in my fob .now it wont open are lock door with the fob .been told it needs resynking what have that is.does anyopne know how to do it all help very much apreciated thx guys

Stand next to the car, and press one of the buttons on the fob six times.

Before you put the new battery in be sure to press each button for a few seconds to drain any power left in the fob. Install new battery +ve facing upwards, then unlock the Freelander with the key and press the Lock button at least 4 times.

Who told you that load of old bull?

Change the battery and press any fob button repeatedly till the indicators flash

The bit about draining the fob battery is in the handbook.
Just incase it arcs, and your stood in a pool of leaking petrol, at the other side of the Atlantic.
Arse, cover,etc.

It is in the haynes manual. I know that the haynes manual can be way off the mark sometimes, atleast we all know how good the service is at LR dealerships by those qualified LR technicians is don't we
