Ok, I accept an alarm/immobiliser is an essential piece of equipment to deter the opportunist thief and I will be fitting one. However what I'm really looking for is something more practical to accompany my steering disc-lock. I've just spent some time reading through old threads on the subject but most options seem really time consuming. Ideally what I am looking at is something discrete which is relatively quickly deployable as I normally have two late ones with me.

I like the x eng pedal lock. 1 second to lock, 10 seconds to unlock and it won't fly around the car in an accident.
Not cheap though

You can fit one of these:

SV solenoid fuel valves - FW Murphy Europe

in the fuel line. It will only allow fuel through when it's getting 12v. You can switch it through an immobiliser or just a simple hidden switch.

As others have said, once you have made it difficult to drive away, the biggest threat to your defender comes from towing. If you're on a drive then consider a lockable post or fat achored chain around an axle. If you're on the road, park with steering on full lock towards the pavement to make their lives as hard as possible.

That's not a sensible suggestion, pet lions can easily be distracted. :p

No seriously tho, i'm not really looking at security devices, rather practical solutions. For years I used to remove the Roter Arm on my Petrol engine and that worked a treat. I'm think more with fuel restriction.

They will tow it and some are using a hiabs to lift them and go.

A pet lion?

That could be inconvienent really especially in a 90 considering the space requirements for a lion...

What about a lion hunter however??? :)
