just weld a patch

my 1st post!!!

well bourght a disco off ebay! took it down a gental by way and have fell in love

but now to tackle the outer sill that just needs a small patch welding to it
see pics all the outer sill rotten so have cut it off small hole in bulk head will patch that.

my question is can i leave the good inner sill on and replace outer sill with a 60mm x 100mm box section and weld inner sill to it

what do you think

yes you can fit Box section in place of sill. drill a load of small holes in floor and puddle weld box to floor for additional strength. Daft has posted piccies of his disco with this done..

Yep, they'll do that to you in no time at all

I had two series 3's ten years ago, spent waaayyy too much on them, just got my first disco and started spending already

i used to have basically the same car as you, but now it is all welded up nice

i have a set of froggatt's land rover sill repair sections available, pre bent and ready to weld on/repair your sills.

i never used them cos i had to replace more than i first expected

take a look here LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SILL LEFT AND RIGHT HAND on eBay (end time 01-Aug-10 16:13:06 BST)

let me know if you're interested in them,

theyre new unused.
