....an EGR bypass kit from td5alive, might ave a go at fitting it next weekend if the weather's fine. Already started soaking the exhaust manifold bolts hoping they undo nice an easy...soon to let the fun begin

I blanked off my EGR a couple of days ago... 300TDI with 185K on the clock... bolts came straight off... no problem. You probably be fine to do it whenever... took 10 minutes

Yeah, mine came off straight away too (TD5). I was expecting the usual problems I have working on my LR (seized bolts, rounded off heads etc etc) but undid no problem! Good luck with yours!

Kit arrived on wednesday, quality bit of gear. Fitted it this morning, no probs at all, bolts undid a treat, took about an hour to do and I'm no mechanic! Been out for a test drive and she seemed to rev a bit better and feels a little smoother. Going for a longer drive tommorow

Update....
After clocking up a few more miles she's goin even better! As said, EGR bypass ftted no probs, also cleaned the MAP sensor on inlet manifold, also changed the MAF sensor several weeks ago. Overall I can feel a real improvement, she revs a lot quicker,is certainly smoother, and no more scary moments pullin away at junctions!!(cept when yer back door int shut properly!!) also not afraid to attempt some passing manouvres!
So, get the kit,get them spanners out and do it, you might just be surprized!
