HI!

I started a topic a while ago saying how my car decided not to work! And then 2 hours later worked fine with no problems!

Well it's happened again!

Started the car about 15 min ago and it was fine, so I left it running while I wiped all the condensation off the windows, got back in and tried to pull off and it just cut out, ( stalled)

Now it won't start! Turn the key and the starter motor goes but just doesn't fire!

Any ideas?

TD4 most likely to be fuel pump failure

next time it starts again normally switch it off get out disconnect the cam position sensors and see if it is the same as when it doesnt start. if its the cam position sensor you can almost guarantee it starts every time from cold

but if it stalls when driving probably fuel pump just thought you could check something for free first

Thanks ! Will have a check! Just got to the car again and it still won't start, no whirling from fuel pump, all fuses that I think are related seem fine :(

Sorted!!

AA Man came along and stumbled across the problem.
The fuel pump under the bonnet and dropped off its support. Causing the power connector wires to pull out of the plug!

He wedged them back in, and cabled tied the block thingy up so its not hanging!

Just need to order a new plug and viola!

That's the culprit,

if you are going to take it of be very carfull about the filter cap and its fitting as they can break very easy and a new one is over £90 if i were you i would put a new filter in while you are at it but it can be a job to get that out
