Can anyone say if there is a knack to getting the plug out of the fuse box from the ignition barrel, there seems to be a catch / clip or something holding it in and it wont just pull out, I dont want to bust it any help would be very much appreciated thanks.

let me guess its a 97 lagonda with 27000 miles on the clock with gunmetal mettalic paint and pink interior

Ha Ha yes reading it back was a bit vague, total newbie post, although I am not a newbie and should have got my head from under the dash before posting drivel. :D
Trying to fix the poxy thing in a train car park, things are a bit tense shall we say, and I did not want to break anything and drop me even further in the ****e, but done now, on my (you got the year right) 1997 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 1 5 DOOR 300 TDI MANUAL RED WITCH.
I sold the Lagonda years ago,I could not get on with the pink interior :D

Managed to get the plug off, we had to take it off from the barrel side in the end
it would not come out at the fuse box,and being parked in a car park for the last week
I did not want to get into any further problems by forcing and breaking something.
Anyhow, I managed to tap the sheared head bolts, got the new barrel connected and the landy started,so I have drove it home and it is on the drive, I have to cut some 8m bolts down now, to bolt it back on, and hope to get it finished by tomorrow, and then I have to look at the speedo cable as that has stopped working completly now........Landy's you gotta love em havent you, then I can start to sort out putting my new Massai windows in my 110 Thanks once agin Ratty for your help behind the scenes..
