hi guys ,
just had this problem start, after accelerating as soon as i touch the foot brake and the car slows there is a single nock from the front? could it be anti roll bar bush or is there anything else it may be????

often donr come with new nuts ,if you peel rubber boot away from fastening there is usualy 2 flats to hold as you undo or tighten nut

haynes manual doesnt even give a drawing of this part of suspension?
looks an easy fix and found pair of drop links for £14.00 Bonus!!!
SUSPENSION

Won't be a bonus if they're cheap crap, you'll be doing them again in 6 months to a year as I found out with another car I have. With my Freelander I paid more & went for Lockheed Delphi ones & touch wood they've been very good for two years now.

You're right Maddie, they do need an allen key at the top.

Other causes of knocking can be lower wishbone balljoint, antirollbar retaining collars rusting through & allowing the antirollbar to "slide" off centre to one side, Faulty upper strut mount or if your lucky loose centre nut on upper strut mount, even a knackered track rod end can knock & yes I've had all of the above except the antirollbar collars - mine are only half rusted off so time for some strong jubilee clips soon.

If you even remotely suspect a problem with a loose caliper then don't drive it again till you've got the wheel off & fully checked it out/tightened it all back up again.
