Hello all,
New to this so here goes!
I have a freelander 1 td4 and I noticed at the weekend a leak to the right hand side of the unit? It is not the drive shaft seal it is closer to the filler plug, it almost looks like it is coming from the joint of the ird unit were the right hand side bolts back on, has anybody else ever seen this happen?
Is the gasket available for this area? The unit itself sounds feels ok driving so don't think it warrants a whole new unit! If this side is unbolted does all the inners need resetting with special tools?
I a willing to get my hands dirty on this but I want to make sure just this side can be worked on without effecting any other parts!!
By the way the leak was lower right area near the filler plug, I have heard of a telltale drain to the lower part if an inner seal goes where is that? Is that in this area? If that has gone and it is that telltale leak I may need a new unit.
