Hey guys and gals been on the forum for a couple of years on and off since I did a 4x4 day, got a disco 1 cheap recently needs a few... Guess what.... Welding repairs but seems good. I'm a mechanic by trade did tig mig and gas welding at college.... Cough cough a few years ago so I'm prepared for discovery life. Battery drain hopefully narrowed down to mfu fingers crossed. Hopefully have a bit of off road fun and travel to work. Any do's or don't or advice on the old wagon?

Guess you're going to get a crash course back into mig welding, spent many an hour laid on the drive under cars welding

you're either totaly bonkers or you love practicing your mechanical skill, either way i'm sure you'll feel at home here with all us other lunatics:crazy:

yeah its a bit different welding nice shiney bits of metal to be acid tested afterwards to welding a disco ... :)

you've got to have a bit of bonkers about you to be a mechanic anyway(modern cars ...cd changer packs up n puts abs light on yyyyyyyyyyy?????) love a challenge and i think the landy is a blinkin challenge but fun one ,yep im bonkers ha ha

I had a disco 1 for 3 years, I put 2 new sills on, both inner wings, drivers footwell, rear wheel arch, a few patches on the chassis and a few other bits. Then there was the mechanicals, Prop shaft, abs sensor, head gasket, alternator and a few more bits. God I loved that car.
