Intermitant Judder

Hi
Whilst driving a few weeks ago I suddenly felt a 'Judder' 'thumping noise', I pulled over thinking I had a Flat Tyre as this is how it sounded and felt.

No Flat. When setting off again the noise/feeling stopped.

3 weeks later the same thing happened. Once again I pulled over to check for a Flat Tyre but nothing and the noise has gone away again.

Any ideas what this could be?

Could be any number of things.

Check wheel bearings, rear diff, unplug the haldex ecu and see if the noise goes

Has a wheel fallen off? Jack it up & see if 1 is about to! There should be 5 wheels on your Freelander, check.

it could be a drive shaft joint
