Insurance woes

has any one got any idea where to get REASONABLE priced insurance for a 17 year old male, in a 1996 tdi discovery xs. As he got quoted 20,000 odd for it.

Is there no way you can get a policy that alows you to drive any vehicle ?. They also need to insure northern ireland,

I will try lancaster insurance later as I have to go out now.

I'm 18, 1 years no claims and paying £1200 p/a on a 200tdi defender fully comp with Aviva

sell it and buy a defender, generally cheaper to insure for some reason

300tdistu pays the same for his disco £350 a year and his 90 is £350 a year both with lancaster both full comp

thats why i said generally. my disco was more expensive than the 110 to insure and was looking for quotes for bro in law last year.

bro in law was 20yr old no ncb but clean licence for 3 years.

disco 300tdi - £2250
disco v8 - £2300
90 300tdi - £1100

last summer i bought a 300tdi disco ES to use whilst the defender was poorly. the 90 is valued at £4,500 with all mods declared and is £1,060 3rd party with NFU. NFU quoted me £3,000 if i valued the disco at £1,500 3rd party needless to say i stuck the disco on ebay pretty soon...

I'm 20 btw.
