OK 2001 TD5 auto with 106k I reckon about £6k worth, just been quoted £1200 full comp me and misses, I had one bump in it last year first in 10yrs or so and had no cover on my No claims (oversight on my behalf wat a ****), I nudged a car that stopped on a green /amber light and of course being a fiesta crumpled the bumper but all three occupants put injury claims in plus i had to put my bumper and lights right so i reckon £10k of claim in all, gutted its so High, of course im being honest in my gocompare forms, swiftcover wont cover me at all, any ideas folks?

I'm with admiral at the moment I was on the multicar insurance think it was £700 for a 1998 Freelander & 2000 TD5 Disco. auto 7 seater

now only have the disco I think im £450 fully comp but that is still sort of on the old multicar police, but we will see when the renewal comes in April, but have not had any accidents in it,

After how they treated a mate of mine won't even consider Swift. and the incident wasn't his fault..
some of the guys in the club im in are with NUF and are happy have a look in the Landy mags always insurance companies in there

Cheers for the reply, I think i will phone around as 10 yrs no bumps and then some silly bint stops on green/amber light, all 4 of her wheels were 10yds over the line and I was stopping as well at low speed but just hadnt anticipated my weight and her being where I thought i was going to stop (my fault i know), and suddenly im being hit hard, best to speak to someone me thinks screw these interweb sites.

Adrain Flux under £400 with all mods declared for me with 9 years no claims the misses and her Dad, did go up a little year last but couldn't find anything cheaper.

Or try lancaster or NFU.

Adrian Flux, third party fire & theft, no no claims (I use my no claims on my other car which has full business usage insured).

~£140. Happy with TPFT as I'm likely to do any/most self-inflicted repairs myself, and the vehicle is fully-depreciated anyway with 174000 miles up.

Depending on your age try SAGA. Full no claims discount and comp for £266.
I Am 69 and annual mileage down for 8000. Previously Equity Red Star who jumped to £480
from £240.
cheers

1996 Disco 300Tdi auto(Jap reimport)

I had 1 years no claims and a claim in the last 3 years and im with lancaster landrover specific policy me and the missus fully comp is 275 per year including paying monthly.

When it comes to your bump just say you wernt made aware of the cost involved ;)

lancaster are a flat rate company so they don't take into account NCD you just need to have been driving for over 3 yrs.

NFU are execlent but go to your local branch face to face and speak to them they are much cheaper that way as they like to keep local custom and know the area and so on.

Good luck

I'm with admiral at the moment as well. 95 disco 1 and 52 scenic for £660.00 fully comp, me and the missus, 9 years NCB. Was with swift, they wanted to double my premium on the scenic because I had claimed for a windscreen. Had three windscreens in two years and admiral didn't care, give them a try.

These companies always make me laugh. I'm currently paying £260.00 fully comp with 9 years protected no claims with Swift. I just did an online quote with Lancaster and they wanted £2016.35 for the same cover :D

Cheers all for the replies I will ring Lancaster and not use the web site so i can explain it all, i will post in the next week or so the outcome.

well after phoning around to all suggestions on here and filling out all the known comparison sites im staying with my current ins company One Call (although i still have until Feb 1st), as i said i stupidly over looked covering my NCB and after 15 +yrs of no claims have reduced it to only 4yrs NCB, full comp for £4000 car (approx) with wife, courtesy car and bdown £757 is my best quote, breaks my heart!

Thanks for all the help tho

Cheers, but frank pickles site will not let you get a quote for a none modified LR, unless I declare my chip of course?

Whats wrong with the phone?????

I know......yet an other reason to mod it..... I saved money just by putting a snorkel on............I was going to mod it anyway, is a chip not mod'd then?

Cheep insurance with declared mod's.......

or

Expensive Insurance with no mods delcared.....and then what happens when mr insurance finds out it mod'd

I know which no brainer I decided on........

Your right, I phoned them......but....

Most bizzare!! i rang them and the remap isnt modified enough for them to cover me?

I have little time to buy a snorkel fit and reinsure through them despte the 'possible'saving, although worth remembering next time.

He said " we only insure through and through off road cars that have raised suspension or underbody protection, unfourtunately a remap isnt modified enough for us to help you"

He seemed pleasent enough though..
