I've got the usual problem with water in the boot cubby, pretty sure it is condensation related (exhaust) rather than a seal leak. Has anyone tried to insulate the cubby from heat off the exhaust? I think perhaps a heat shield or perhaps some adhesive insulating material applied to the underside?

Personaly I think this exhaust heat theory is bollocks. I reckon you have a leak somewhere.

Not quite so direct as Chaser but I agree with his sentiments. Warming air means that the water vapour pressure can be higher and that it can hold more water, BUT where does the water come from? There is very poor circulation into the cubby because of the sealing by the carpets, so air isn't replaced in great volumes to bring in water vapour. I suggest you lift the carpets and try to track where its really coming from. Mine has been perfectly dry for four years and then two months ago it got me!

I too have a problem on my 3dr. The compartment is secured with 8 TORX and also some kind of draught excluder, but it is damp. Not full of water, in fact the carpet at bottom of the compartment is dry, but the sides are definately damp, cos its wrecked the amp and 2 speakers i found in there!!

Ok thanks, i'll give it a further check around the seals....I never lock the cubby and since the lock was damaged anyway I just removed the lock assembly which gives some useful ventilation. The carpets around the lid always seem to be dry so i'm perplexed how it could be an external leak, but i'll check again in any case.
