Hello

I am having problems with them they are very slow blinking (advisory on MOT says less than 60 times/min) and they are even slower with the headlights on any thoughts:confused:

Cheers

Andy

check your earthing ponts are clean as it would affect them, mine were not very bright so i cleaned all the contacts where the bulbs fitted and that made a differnce

Thanks for the replys i think i sorted it erm..one of the actual alternator brackets has snapped and one bolt had come loose and was wobbling around like a wobbly thing but still charging... just!
Retightened everything and seems ok but i think i need a new alternator.

Will any other alternator fit or does it have to be a landie one??

Thanks

Andy

The standard alternator is a Lucas 16ACR, I'm sure this was fitted to lots of vehicles. Vehicle electrical specialists can recondition these or they can be bought recon or new for reasonable numbers of pennies. If you feel the need you can always fit a bigger capacity alternator.

Do u need a conversion kit, or just a bit of bodging?
if yer getting one off a scrappy just ask for the bracketry with it and its pretty easy with a bit of bodgetrickery and get the wires off the transit with it just incase its the one with the long plug think i got it off an l reg a few years ago

cheers johnny :D
