Hi all, I'm new on here and wondered if I can pick your brains. I'm finally in a position to fulfill my dream of buying a Defender and have spent the last few weeks looking for one. I've found a 90 hardtop 2010 that appears in good condition so I rang up my insurer to get a quote. They need it to have an immobiliser to insure for theft but I don't know if it has one or not. It's the basic model defender with white wheels and doesn't have central locking or an alarm. Can anybody advise me if there is an immobiliser as standard or not. If not, can I get one fitted (I guess a Thatcham 1 with alarm) and how much is that likely to cost.

Thanks very much if you can help.
Tim.

Hello. Pretty sure they have one as standard, but I would probably wait for someone more knowledgeable to turn up

What ever security it already has, add as much more as you can afford. After market systems are not a fortune in comparison to the purchase cost.
