I had one like that; a top of the line Toshiba. I found a place that did a fixed-price "no-fix/no-fee" repair service and they fixed it in 1 week. The technician that worked on it said it took him about 30 minutes to isolate and to fix the problem.

If it is a quality brand and not a cheapo then putting it in for fault-finding and repair is likely to be cheaper than buying a new one. Good Luck!
It's a Panasonic about 4 years old

Good for you.

I wish I could manage this. But if I did W would have to do it with me and I know there is no chance of that happening!

I did dry January a couple of years back just to see how it went. OK I didn't have any blood tests, but apart from that I felt no benefits at all.

I am pleased you find alcohol free gin so good. Dunno if we could get that over here, but I'll try it if I can find any. My massive problem is that I simply like the taste of alcoholic drinks. I never get drunk any more, not even silly. But i find soft stuff frankly boring.

Anyway keep it up and let us know how your reads change!
👍👍👍👍
Get yerself some will power.

Don't need to, got plenty, as dry January proved.

Big thing is, at 69, and 77 respectively we both feel, to a large extent, why bother and deny ourselves a little pleasure?
The sawbones would be pushing me a lot harder to take statins or summat if he really thought I needed to.

But alcohol also puts a lot of strain on the body. A little pleasure is one fing. A bottle a day is much different. Yer could cut down as opposed to stop.

Depends what bottle!
Beer?
Gin?
Wine? 🤣 🤣 🤣
We do similar to @DanClarke i.e. only have aperitifs and post prandial brandies or whiskies after, at the weekend, (just had to edit it and put that in!) but we do split a bottle of wine between us every day.
So yup, no denying it we are well over the 14 units a week.
But both our waistlines are average or below and we don't either of us have heart problems.

We have decided to have only half a bottle of wine between us during the week, (per day, natch!) and to have more water on the table!

There, decision taken!;););)
