Well I woz mistaken, today is the the 4th white day in a row and tomoz will be one as well.
So bit of a stitch up on the behalf of EDF. Never seen this before. But at least we will then have seen the last of them, only blue days for the rest of the summer. :vb-banana:

"Summer" hmmph!
Wore a sweater to market today under my fleece. First time ever.
And it was raining, a bit.
Cut some wood, bought a new stat, still cost €35 :eek:but it is an experiment as it has a bimetallic element. If I can get this one to work I'll order a load of cheaper ones like wot I have seen elsewhere ont internet.
Ordered the hens for picking up 15th May, W's birthday. She still don't know what she wants and we need to book a meal.
Our butcher went to London for a week with his family and another family. He was shocked to find cider on draught! Found transport costs V high, and they managed to miss their flight back due to the failings of London transport, the Gatwick Express etc. Felt sorry for him on that one.
Despite above remarks it has been a bit warmer up here today but drizzly.
Enjoy the tail end of the evening folks!:):):)

... the new window is in and the results are (as I expected) totally underwhelming.
Herself thought the hall would be flooded by light, but I knew all the angles/obscuring brickwork would mean its effect would be minimal. Guess who was right? ;)
So, she is a bit grumpy about blowing £1500 on her pet project for a nil-result.
I have suggested we paint the dark brickwork we can now see through this new window in brilliant white to maximise reflected light.

Maybe she will listen to me when I say "it isn't really worth it babe's" next time. Who knows? :D

Sadly, doubt it.

£1500 for a new window???!!!

@Stanleysteamer Matt Damon is on your side mate.

Amazingly articulate.
and dead right of course.👍👍👍👍👍

It is a funny thing that so many people think teaching is actually quite an important thing but the govt just simply will not pay properly for people to do it.
Nor will they fund the buildings to stop them falling down. It'll take a kid getting killed just by a ceiling or a wall collapsing on him/her for the govt to do something about this. And even then.......
And even since I have retired it has become an even s*****r job.
I wouldn't last 5 minutes in it now. I'd crown some little scrote...:(:(:(

Yup! Lots of work involved for a strip of glass <16" x 72" in a frame up above the existing doors.
I kept saying "ain't worth the money" but......
Did your best. I agree about the paint.
Good luck with next time. ;)

I have a confession to make.
Nowadays when the D2TD5 throws its toys out of the pram I do have a little think about a Freeloader.
I just wonder what its towing capacity is as we tow a Citroen C3 on a car trailer and I'm not sure that wouldn't all weigh too much. :stars:

Just got an email from Octopus saying they are going to up my payments to offset my debt, "If I am happy to go along with that"

So I enjoyed pointing out to them that we will be consuming zero gas and v little electric for 6 months so we will alter the payments, maybe once we are back and have spent all our credit!

(We have the same convo every year, via email. I did remind them of this too.);)
TBH I find them very easy to communicate with and very reasonable in their relations with us. :)
