I knew Freelanders had a bad reputation but I didn't know a lot of Independant Land Rover places wont even work on them!

Phoned up the guy who used to look after my 200 TDi Discovery to get him to sort the vibration/gearbox problem out and change the belts. He just said Sorry Mate I wont work on them, I said what not even servicing, he said yup not even servicing. :(

Apparently he's not alone? There are lots of other indys that wont work on Freelanders! Bugger! How am I going to get my damn car fixed? Sure I can do servicing but my spannering skills are limited. :(

I guessed owning a Freelander was going to hit the wallet a bit, but this was one problem I hadn't allowed for!

have yu read my long winded and verbose whingy comments - I have mentioned that point before. Deffo with HGF - lotsof places (including squeelers) wont touch hippoos with a barge pole.:(

Glad you mention the garage always gets the blame ! I wont do engine work on 1.8/2.5 F/L engines - only diagnostic work. All the garages I work for lose money on them, they are a pain in the a--e.V8's Tdi's and even Td5's are a much safer bet IMO.
