hub caps (defender)

ive being told that i can fit shallower hub caps off a later model to my defender 90 1991 this is so i can get my wheel caps on my freestyle wheels
anybody done this or are they different !!!!

later cap will fit on ,but differences are also drive member thicknes and hub ,and later cv is shorter

what difference will the thickness of the drive member and hub and cv have on me puttin freestyle wheels on ???
they dont rub or catch anything and look good apart from having no centre caps on at the mo (as hub covers are about 2 or 3 mils) and the shorter hub caps off a later defender (1993 onwards) should short that out

ive no idea ,what wheel fits what is not something i take a lot of notice of,i only know they altered axle ends to suit

i understand james ,im just going of what the bloke at the garage said !!!
i thought i would see if anyone had any knowledge of it before i buy some spacers mate as they are expensive !!!

so your gonna fork out over £150 on spacers just so u can get your end caps on the alloys

hub caps will sort that out ?
and they really look ****e without em

You forgot to mention the excess bearing wear and tram lining issues you get thrown in with the deal...

Sell the wheels, use the extra £150 and get some that you like and fit properly

got hub caps today and yes they are a good 1/2 inch shorter so when i get them on tomorrow then problem sorted !!!
