Amongst my dad’s tools are two broken ratchets with missing parts. One is totally jammed and looks like it’s missing a spring. The other one turns but is missing springs, pins and the switch on the back. The one in the top photo is the one that turns and is missing some parts. It’s a TOKU 33038 3/8“ ratchet.
The one in the bottom photo is also a 3/8” ratchet and it’s the one that’s jammed. It doesn’t have any makers marks on it.
Any advice on how to fix them would be welcome. I’ve tried looking up ratchet repair kits but it’s difficult to decide which is the right one.

Sorry, but as above. Ratchets take so much grief that I almost consider them consumable items - even though I do try and look after them.

If you really want to repair them, then I'd send some pictures to the repair kit suppliers and ask them directly - but include a tape or ruler in the pictures so they can get some idea of sizes.

I'll also say that there's a Hilka ratchet of my father's amongst his tools, which is broken, and which I have kept with the aim of fixing it - I doubt it's going to happen now - he passed on 22 years ago. :(. The rest of his tools, I still use :)

I have the same....I have a handheld ratchet which is amazing and works by pumping the handles like a pair of scissors to get it to work rather than a circular motion.. That locked up and I always intended to fix it but never got around to it.... so little time in life.

OK, I'll buy new ones, I was hoping that mending them would be straightforward. They do have sentimental value but I don't mind letting them go seeing as they have had their innings :) Dad probably kept them with a view to fixing them. At least I've learnt how a ratchet works!
Thanks
