How much do you think its worth?

Hi folks, my friend is currently thinking about selling her 1997 discovery 300tdi & I'm wondering how much she should be looking to get for it? As defender driver I know enough about the mechanical bits n bobs but havnt a clue about resale value!

Its unfortunately going as spares or repair since it failed its MOT on excessive corrosion at the seatbelt mounts and front suspension area (+ a few other small jobs too) but other than that its in great condition...

Its only got 98k on the clock and the engine, gearbox and transferbox are in great condition as is the interior, electrics and even the body is only showing a little rust in the obvious areas.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

£200 scrap price.

As its Scottish.... £150 cause rust int worth toffee

Ill give you half a Curley Wirley and a mars bar ...

I'd have thought it'd be worth more than that just for someone to part out though?

When my tdi head went last year I was spotting engines in way worse condition going for £350-400 let alone the gearbox, transferbox etc

They're not worth the sum of there parts

Had it been last week, I would have given you £450 for it. Was looking for a project, however had the money taken off me and a load of soft furnishings were purchased.

Lol - like I said except for the chassis its not actually that rusty! 2 owners from new and the closest to offroad its been is a few unmade tracks up north

Then offer yer friend £400 and get it bought

If you know what the parts are worth if yopu break it. then get the fooker on ebay and stop moithering us with your thinly disguised spam. FFS

I'd seriously thought about it myself but I've got a mk2 golf gti project thats on hold while I fix my mk4 golf & my defenders come out in sympathy and started making some suspicious squeaking and grumbling noises from the propshaft and wheel bearings

Cheers, I'm honestly not trying to spam, just looking for a good idea of its price as a whole coz like I said I've enough of my own projects on and feck all space to break it myself.

Shes just wanting rid herself so I cant see her wanting stuck with a bunch of oily spares round her flat. I'll pass on the info though but I think she was hoping for more.

Lol - something like that, I've got a 96 defender so getting oilys all part of the fun for me (although doesnt look like the mk2's going to be ready for the summer at this rate)

Shes pretty gutted though coz she loved the disco but shes making do with the subaru forester I picked her up last week

Like I said its not mine so I'll see what shes saying about it.

That is sounding a lot better price wise tho, so she might be tempted - but at least until I've got my defender fixed again theres no way to get it down to you!

Lol - at the moment except for the welding, the discos probably more capable of making it that far than my defender
