Hi guys this is an odd problem , the heater works hurrah , but only really sends heat to my feet ,but colder air up to the vents and the screen at the same time . The controls move the air around on the different settings but not the heat . What could be causing this?? Thanks in advance .

I have had same issue recently, was thinking it could be an airlock in the top of my heater matrix leaving hot water trapped in the bottom half of the matrix and warm air at the top? Not certain tho :)
Try thoroughly bleeding the system.

i get similar hot 'n not-so-hot when using the a.c. plus heating

footwell + screen is ok .. feet toasty .. upper level comfortable and mist free
footwell + dash vents .. feet toasty .. upper vents coolish ..

footwell + 1 open roof panel works fine at slower speeds :)

~~~~~~
with a.c. 'off' .. ( a rarity )
most heat still seems to be generated at the footwell vents
( when combined with dash vents )
still cooler thru the dash vents ..
( i never do use dash vents on their own .. except with a.c. 'cold' in summer weeks )
I've recently replaced the heater matrix and noticed this after fitting it
found the cables which are fitted either side of the heater bix came out of their clips and not switching between hot and cold or shutting off the heater box flaps , which if not fitted correctly will allow cold and hot through the vents at the same time
i belive the ac comes on automatically when the car is first started onto the windscreen in cold weather, regardless itu have the ac switch off
see if the red and black cables are located firmly , if not u can get to them without removing the dashboard, learnt a few tricks in getting to them without too much trouble
after i done the cables the heater through all positions works really goodand can't have the switch above 2 as the car gets too hot
hope that may help abit
Thanks for the tips gstuart , that sounds exactly like my problem ; too much cold air . I will look at the cables at the weekend when I finish for Xmas , hopefully this is the issue . :)
