hidden menu

does anyone know if in the hidden menu in message centre no21 says reset all defect codes. does this clear all logged faults or is it something differant? if it does indeed clear all faults then it can save peeps without diagnostics the expense of getting a garage to do it when a fault shuts a system down even if the fault is rectified

message centre no21 reset my ecu in my wifes bmw 2002 r53 mini cooper s but not sure its the same on a l322,on the mini its basically the same deal as disconecting the battery.
