Hi all landyzone users,
Can anyone help me, I have a 2003freelander td4, it hesitates on exelaration and lacks power, but runs fine when I disconnect the vacum pipe from the EGR valve, can not find any leaks in vacum pipes or intercooler pipes, any one else had same thing?

well then put an EGR bypass on it - could be EGR blocked or not working properly.

oh and change your MAF and fit a synergy while your at it :p

Not sure about that guys - I have been throwing money at mine with all the bits and still have a hesitation low down - I think I need new injectors.

Do a leak back test before spending too much. The EFR is easily checked and you could clean the one you have to test before putting on a bypass ( which is worth doing in any case)

also when you remove the EGR valve it allows a better air flow thus allowing the engine to breath better

Mmmm not sure about that - it needs blocking off at least but you are just doing part of the job - there must be a reason for the hesitation - try and cure it.

Welcome i have fitted the egr conversion on my td4 and its the best £45 i have spent buy the stainless one off of fleabay it takes about 20 mins to fit also if you get the duck noise when you shut it down plug vacuum pipe other side off solonoid dont worry its easy Also as hippo says you may need to change maff sensor and will need a t25 tamperproof torx to remove 2 small bolts.hope this helps.
