I am crap on a computer so please go easy on me.
I have owned my series 3. 21/4 diesel .109 for about 4 years now. It's a 1971 but in reasonable condition except for its cracked block which I am in the process of replacing.
For the first 2 years I was working in London so didn't get that much done to it but had bought it with retirement in mind. Sadly I had a mild stroke 2 years ago and moved house at the same time, so the 109 had to go on the back burner for the rest of that year.
I got it on the road just before Christmas and my mate gave it a steam clean which was when we discovered the cracked block so it was ok for short local runs but I had to find a replacement.
I have got a replacement but it's a LDV land rover 2-5 NA diesel which is great but I need to sort out the mounts. So will be looking forward to any help you proper landy people can give me.
I live near Maldon in Essex. Thanks for reading my thread Pete.

Welcome from me too:)
Not sure what lump you have got but if it's the one with the pressed tin timing belt cover rather than the landrover alloy one I believe some spares to be difficult to source?
Timing belt is different I know that.

Welcome Peter:)

Plenty of proper Landys not sure about the proper people:eek::)
But loads of good help when you need it for sure.

Hi Flossie,
the engine has an ali timing belt cover and a defender timing belt which has just been replaced. I was told the engine was out of a defender and that it should drop straight in the series 3 but doesn't and looks like the off side mount might need a bit of cutting about .
We only had a quick look when we offered the engine in but had no time to really get our head's around it, but hopefully might get a few pointers from someone who
know what needs doing.
Any help welcome regards Pete.
