There seems to be an issue with my defender head lights, it recently had its front wings wiring sorted out (see post re fuse blowing for more details) as of then it would appear the left headlight is on full at dim and dim at full if that makes sence.

So, my thought was find the 2 live wires, clip them and rejoin them, but I first wanted to make sure it couldn't be the bulb placement (I have never changed a headlight bulb in 90 so wouldn't know weather it could go in a wrong way)

Its a 1990 SWB.

Also when I do do it, is there a sure way of checking? i.e. on full beam only the full beam filiment should be on yes? I can look for the live terminal when the dims are on and the live terminal when the fulls are on and see if they are swapped.

Anyway, sorry to blabber, I just don't want to open up the wiring again to swap them around, seems if it works leave it... all be it it doesn't technicaly work!!

When you say dim, do you mean dipped beam or the light is physically dim?

if you do mean dipped, all you have to do is change the connections at the bulb...easy!

Problem was when that loom was reconnected up near the bulk head.

Found 3 wires to the headlight, green/red and green/blue I think, pulled them out of the harness and swapped them round, working fine now.
