hi im a newbie and have a prob please help

hi everyone .

i have a 2004 td4 freelander and im having some probs with it and hope you can help ?

right it starts and drives fine but while driving the engine management light with the (!) in it comes up and i loose all power the the engine stops running then i turn the key off and on again then it starts fine drive fine for a few mins then happens again .

if i sit stand still the rev the car it seems ok till you get to 4k then cuts out the same as driving ?

also when u get to a stop and turn the car off it over runs for a few sec ?

i had a garage look at it and they put it on a computer and i came up with

p1195 rail pressure control valve

p1190 rail pressure control

now im thinking maybe the rail pressure sensor on the end of the common rail ???? but it is the best part of £300 from landrover and would like some ideas from your good selfs maybe some of you have had the same prob or heard of it before as i dont want to spend the money out if its not this

check the fuel rail sensor connection....undo the connector and give it all a good clean with contact cleaner as they have a tendancy to 'green up' and cause problems. if this cures it get some connector lube from maplins to stop it happening again... oh and welcome to the site...
