Hi everyone , I own a Disco2 TD5 2004 model ( in showroom condition)- with 97000 kms on clock which to date has given me absolutely now problems ( have had it for 9 years) .....that is untill the syncro on the 3rd gear decided to pack up. I am now stripping gearbox out and discovered a few other not known before problems to be sorted.......time to join a forum again

Before the disco 2 I had a disco 1 which bought second hand and I spent quite a bit of time on forums sorting
out previous owners induced problems

Hi Juan,

If you have any feel free to post a piccie or two.

Also, I am sure you have it, but just checking have you got your EKA code?

Cheers

Hi all who welcomed me , thanks . Spent a few hours in the garage now and it does not look as bad as I thought. Gearbox needs some tlc on the syncro but oil leak seems to be only related to tappet cover at rear of engine which went onto bell housing and then dripped down making me think the rear engine crankseal was shot .

Main rear seal etc looks good . not going to touch the clutch now ( I have only done approx 30000 km in last 9 years and likely to do same in next 9 years - used only to tow caravan). Will give her a good check over and she should be as good as new again
