Picking up a 110 'hi cap' on Tuesday. I thought they were rated to 3500kg but when I done an insurance quote it said 3050. What's up with this? Has it just had the hicap back put on?

I know that changing to HD ( 3500kg ) was an option on 110s. Came with HD springs, absorbers and some chassis mods. Would have thought that it would be HD with the HCPU, but I'm not sure! 130s were.

I've just picked her up :D

Decided I may as well use this thread to record my progress with her, rather than start a new one. I doubt it'll be as interesting as other peoples build threads as it will be a bit slower paced...

Only problems I've found are dash brake light on (fixed by topping up fluid), diff lock light flickers when not in diff lock and comes on when I push the brake peddle (odd! Must be a dodgy connection somewhere along the wire?) temperature gauge goes up and then drops back down (dodgy sensor?)

There is a fair bit of oil on the near side of the engine but she pulls strong and runs well so hopefully something like rocker cover gasket?

Anyway, what you wanna see...

Looks like it will be fun. After a good wash underneath and in the engine bay you'll have a lot better idea about what will need doing.

That's the plan! Hopefully the answer will be 'not too much'!
She's done over 200k but from what I could see, doesn't look too bad for it...

Just gave her a quick pressure wash underneath and in the engine bay. Can't see much in the way of chassis rust. Noticed a few bits that have been welded but they seem to be sturdy! Ideally I'd like to get it up on ramps and give the underneath a proper wash and check over!

Just taken some of the interior out and am going to give it a Hoover, I know :D

Then just general check over really. It's had a CD player wired in but pretty crappy so may try tidy that up today...

I realised why I don't touch electrics, because they confuse the f*ck outta me! Its probably simple but I'll leave the stereo working to somebody who knows what they're doing.

Drilled some holes and mounted my rear work lights on the hoop. Ran the wires to the battery compartment, just need to wire a switch in for them.
Checked/topped fluids up, sprayed electrics and squeaks with WD.
Swapped spare wheel over.

Nothing exciting but I'm happy with her!
