Hi All, Just got my hands on a 52reg (03MY) Discovery, this is the second Discovery i have owned, the first was a 94 300TDI Auto (18mpg ouch). Cutting my teeth on the 300TDI was a good expirience dispite the fact that it had ALL of the usual faults (honestly - you name it, it had it) if it wasnt for this site i would have been bald a long time ago. That car had to go, after 215,000 miles the engine and trans were starting to show their age even though the body was still good for another 10 years, i dont think it was worth all the work required to get it back to A1. the last time i saw it it had been converted into an off road machine, all lifted and macho so someone still loves her. The new Discovery is from another planet when compared to the old one. the difference in the build quality alone is lightyears ahead and although it is 8 years old it drives just like a new one. It has a full dealer service history and has spent most of its life in the south near bournmouth, it was owned by a disabled gentleman who took very good care of her, she really is a credit to him. Well done that man. She was totally original including the tax disc holder and she will now stay that way. (Ok a K&N, De-cat and an EGR replacement have been done but thats all - untill the 18" Mondials get another two new tires fitted, then they will go on with a couple of 30mm spacers, oh and a re-map too after a bit of advice form you guys - bit thats it - i think) so its a big hello from me. Discoveries - I love em.
