Was running a 200tdi disco since April 2013 purchased from family friend who had owned it from new, superb condition but had the dreaded head gasket failure to the oil way, easy fix though
Any how stripped it down replaced gasket and was using it from April last yr until last week when I sold it, was 100% reliable with 178,000 miles on it and on original clutch, gearbox etc
Had a brief spell with a Disco TD5 last nov/dec but never really warmed to it so sold it on
After always wanting a Defender rather than a Disco, and having viewed so called good condition Defenders that where all rotten chassis or had been thrashed and abused, I picked this up last night
2001 TD5 X Tech, 72,000 miles, previous owner has spent some money on it with various bits ££££ (which I think makes it younger looking) and brings it upto date very very clean and not been thrashed and abused
Absolutely chuffed with it only plans are change wheel colour and fit a snorkel
I live in the Lake District so it won't just be a town car
Not sure on the amount of X Tech made on this year but believe there are less than 50 left?
