Ahhh That wonderful sound of spinning tyres on mud , that feeling of being helpless , calling for a tug on the CB lol .. That laughter and fond banter from fellow laners .. I love it lmao ...:D

Yes.... as morning givesway to lunch time, then afternoon disolves into night, the temperature drops and the likelyhood of extracting yer shogun from axle deep super glue dwindles until the only sounds to be heard are the faint cries from a tired and helpless two year old.....

Ah! the magic of it all!

Whispers to Spyderman .. I got to Christen my brand new rope on you . Bright white and shiney it was lol . didnt stay that way for long ...

Big hello to you all ....

Didn't I drive through that after you Spyderman???? Reverse up and towed Glen out then drove through it again. Ah I remember that day first day I tried my s/h grippy tyres out and they worked a treat!

House thing seems to be going well, and they dropped th intrest rate today a bit too, so fingers crossed I'll be happy & completly broke when they hand us the key! Jai

Hows the engine goin? Andy seems to think it may be more than just a seal, the way if was pumping out seems the sump got lots of pressure. Jai
I haven't touched it yet, still sitting on the drive. I'm going to start stripping it down on Saturday. Brother in law seems to thing that the seal might have fallen out altogether, he had lots of problems with that on RR V8's, unrelated engine of course.
I'm thinking the leak started very slowly, so it's not a catastrophic sudden failure and it still runs sweet, even though the oil is ****ing out. The motor isn't run-in yet, so I'd expect everything still to be very tight.
What does Andy think it might be?

That was when I still had 7.50's on.:p Leonberger, I seem to remember you driving around the rutts that i was in.;):D

bet i wont get stuck as much as some, even a little muddy bank got the better of someone on ere!

ME!

You have to give me a tiny weenie bit of credit I had bald Xcls! everyone else had broncos or insa turbos. Xcls dont grip tarmac let alone mud when they are bald! Jai

Don't let this worry you
its probably something silly but

He did say something about piston rings but as you replaced them unlikley, he then said mabe a cracked piston. Some how pressure and alot of it, is getting into the sump/oil supply to blow the oil out like it was. It makes sense. I suppose if the head gasket went in such a place to get to an oil supply that could also do it but I have no idea.

All we know is that its ****ing out more like blown out. I would expect for a seal to have gone it would **** out but not at that rate it was especially as it was new, Brit part or not.

Another thing was when it was installed did you use the special installer to put the seal in? The plastic guard that comes around it is not to be used as an installer, its only function is to protect. If you used the guard Andy said it will stretch it before you start making it leak.

If I have any of this wrong Spitfire speak now or forever hold your tounge. Jai

I learnt so much about what can and cant be done on regular ATs ,, to the point of safty , A feeling of control that get scary as you negotate trees and hedges ,, wondering if your gona end up into one .. Muds on the other hand alowed me to crawl at a much slower speed and minimise whell spin ,, kepping control of stopping, steering and kepping lane erosion to a min .. I think having taller tyres also keeps the landy out of harms way underneath , as i havent found it bottoming out or banging , .. and is now a dream to drive ..:) ..

Not wrong there lol ..Tip toed around the ruts hahaha That was a great day of laneing ,, I could feel every rut shake and bang my disco :) .. LOL learnt so much that day ....

Or you could say that you skillfully negotiiated the terrain and avoided hitting rarther close tree and got through the lane to give assistance to those that required it.

Hi everyone, still trying to get some money together to get out on the lanes and a bit busy sorted out the SJ. Hope to have it back on the road it the next few weekends.

Hey Kris... we're all in the sameboat I think... more desire than finance! Still should be able to get a good laning day in over the next few weeks or so... I hear your surry lanes are open all year, is this true?
