:(Morning all im stuck!

Got myself some nice Terrafirma shocks and spring to go on the Defender iv tried to follow the thread that Treworgey posted on here for stickin em on but now im stuck!

The offside turret bolt has rusted to nothing and cant get the bottom one undone as my Stillsons wont grip the old shock!

Any advice or even better a pair of helping hands would be much appreciated! A crate of your fave poison if that helps!

Cheers in desperation Pete!

Angle grinder? Try drilling through the shock and sticking a bar in it to stop it rotating - but have something to catch the oil from inside it.

I did the front shocks on a Defender a few weeks back and I ended up using an angle grinder. Got the top of the shock undone, removed the turret & spring and cut off the threaded part of the shock at the bottom. The nut and remainder of the threaded bit then just falls out of the bottom mount.

cheers for the quick replies gents im gonna try cutting through the spring first so i can get at it easier not sure iv got any steel bits so have to go shoppin!

Jesus Christ! What a pig of a job. Its taken me an hour and a half to cut the springs away and not even started on the shock yet!

I wont be trying anymore jobs i have neither the know-how or the knack!:(
