Could anybody help me please, does the none return valve go in the back pipe closest the wheel or closest the chasis cheers Rob

...none return valve ...

there is no such thing in the filter housing......the only valve is the air bleed valve which is on the back pipe closest to the wheel.....the LP return pipe from the pump is going to the front pipe closest to the wheel.

Wrong there in a non return valve in the right hand side nearest the chasis as well.

In this case i apologize:eek:, i was missleaded by RAVE

I have a part number vub5039950 which is described as a non return valve kit. My friend works at a landrover indy garage and he as microcat on his computer and this says that the nrv is in the left side back pipe but when i took my pipes off it was in the left side front pipe and now i'm confused (doesnt take alot)

Just got a new fuel filter housing which came in kit form. A membrane was supplied and a nrv. One diagram viewed places the nrv in the left rear feed (low pressure feed to filter). From reading the above it would seem it should be in the rear right feed (return pipe from fuel cooler.
At the moment there is nothing in any of the feeds to the fuel filter housing. However this means it will not purge correctly.
I tried simply fitting the membrane in the front left pipe. The engine ran for a short while and then stalled.
Can anyone help please

So has anyone here managed to find a cure? I have the same problem. Also could not find a non return valve. Problem started with a diesel pump not working at all and then replaced pump and filter. Ever since then I have to wait for the pump to prime before i can start. Is it possible that some pumps have a non return valve? Or do some diesel filters have a non return valve built in?

the non-return valve is present only on later modells, it's not as important cos if the seals are ok you dont need it... but the air bleed valve is more important and compulsory so concentrate on this one(left outer pipe)
