Help wanted with Defender in Gloucester

Hey guys

I am about to take delivery of a '95 Defender 90 300tdi (hopefully today, maybe the weekend) and being almost entirely useless, I am going to need someone to do servicing, customisation, and repair work on it.

I know of Tim Fry Landrover in Cheltenham and Cotswold Land Rover in Stroud, and of course Stratstone (ugh) in Staverton, but wondering if anyone on here is local and will want a little bit of work on the side.

I'm currently busy writing my dissertation but may be able to help in a few weeks. If you need it doing soon then I can recommend Tim Fry, they aren't cheap but always very helpful.

I can recommend dave hodgetts in droitwich, under 4x4 development. Top bloke and well priced. Pm me for number if interested.

What do you have in mind? I am based in Cheltenham and have done alot of work on my 90 by myself with input from peeps from this forum. Quite happy to help you out but it will depend on what you are looking to do?!

There is also Greyhill 4x4 in Tirley and Wye Valley garage in Ross..
Further afield is Bourton landrovers in Bourton on the water.

Ive never heard a good word said by anyone about Tim Fry, but Ive never used them as a customer, so couldnt comment.

IME - they do get the job done and they are nice people to deal with but they are not cheap.

The Servicing is within the most 'useless' persons capabilities! Get yourself a Haynes manual and follow the guidance in there. You'll enjoy it and it feels good knowing you've done it yourself and saved money. From there you'll get addicted and the confidence will build for you to try the more challenging Jobs and theres a vast amount of people that will help you on here if/when you get stuck. Oh and get a decent pair of overalls, you'll probably be wearing them a lot! Rich :tea:

I'm down the road in Stroud and happy to take you through servicing and general mods in exchange for tea and cake.....there's not much you can't do once you seen it done.

Ther's a blurdy good Indie near Stonehouse for anything complicated.
