I'm desperately after a front axle oil seal (ft3276 I think) for my disco but need it tomorrow as back to work Monday!
Does anyone know of an LR parts supplier/bearing shop/car factor ideally in the chester area, or have a spare seal they are willing to sell me?

I currently have the car stripped down ready to fit new brakes, bearings etc but have found a bad leak between axle and swivel ball joint. The seal looks good but I guess has worn down as doesn't fit tight when inserting the half shaft

All LR dealers seem to be closed tomorrow, I think I'm going to struggle with the likes of halfords. Was going to give DRB in warrington a try as they will be open, LR parts Speke is shut, any other ideas much appreciated..

Anyone??
Failing that ill have to put the broken seal back in for a week and stuff the cv with halfords moly grease..
Thanks

Looks like you're out of luck, I've done a search on ebay and there's no one anyway near you.

It's obviously been like it for a while so I'm sure another week won't matter as long as you're not going on any gargantuan road trips

Thanks both, just tried calling but no answer.
Would just like to check the seal is in correct way round?

Also will i get away with 10 mile drive to halfords with minimal (none added) lube in the swivel?

Bells automotive in queensferry is a good place to go but it's not open weekends....

They have a big breakers yard full of old discos so it might be helpful

Having just done this job myself I can conform that that's the way round my seals were facing when I took my swivel balls off, so I put the new ones in the same way round. There were some people on here a while ago talking about taking them out so as to make the axles oil lubricated throughout. So it's probably not too critical.

10 miles seems quite a long any without any lube in the CV joints and I wouldn't be surprised if the contact surfaces start to fret. Is there any spare grease or gear oil you can stuff in there temporarily?

Thanks folks I made it there and back no problem, got about 400g lithium moly in then gave up - it was taking fooping ages all I had that would get it in the swivel was a 5ml calopol syringe!!!
