My Range Rover P38 was running perfectly with no starting problems then one morning it wouldn't start. The Engine just turned over. The Battery has been off and charged cos I flattened trying to get it to start. The Fuel Pump and Glow Plugs have been replaced. Diesel is coming through but not getting through to the Injector Pump just being returned to the Fuel Tank. At present it has spent the last two weeks with a garage that does nothing but Land Rovers and he can't find the problem. Up to now I loved my car but I'm beginning to hate it. It isn't displaying any error messages. Any Ideas anyone??? I'm desperate to get back on the road.

Direct your anger at the garage, not the car!

A diesel engine isn't rocket science. Personally, I'd find another garage and then sue the first one for wasting your time.

They have had it nearly two weeks now and I don't think there is anything seriously wrong with it because it didn't display any signs before it decided not to start.

i know nothing about P38's but that sounds absolute bollix to me - find a doozil speshialist (and there are some good ones in the herts/london area) and get their advice.

That is the next move and I'm hoping they will get it sorted. My Partner is taking over dealing with the Garage and he has a much meaner streak than me.

have a word with the Herts guys (see green laning section) - they are a good bunch and what they dont know between them int worth knowing.

(individually they are crap tho :D :behindsofa:)

look on ebay at the sync mate, sounds like you had the same problem as me. range was running with no problems!! then would not start...

Yep! A security relearn is all that's needed.

I hear this story time & time again. I've had vehicles that have had the tank pump replaced, injectors etc costing thousands when all it need was a £40 diagnostic relearn.
