Help me choose

hello all,

Time for new tyres, A B and motorway driving. However at the weekends I go away in the caravan and the fields are quite boggy.

I'm looking at the following tyres.

Bridgestone D684

Goodyear wrangler HP

Yokohama Geolander G012

KUMHO - KL71

What would people suggest.

Kumho KL78 all terrains on mine, KL71's are mud tyres.

KL71 look great though 😁 no good on the road?

KUMHO KL71, just put four on my td4 for £300 all in. Bit of road noise but they are quite aggressive so that wasnt much of a surprise. Very good off road though, they have pulled me through everything ive thrown in front of them so far.

How are they on Tarmac in the wet?

Providing you take it easier round corners they arent too bad. But like longdog said they are mud tyres so not ideal for motorways.

Ok that's worth bearing in mind.

I went for a bigger profile as well to give me a bit more lift. (ground clearance)

I'm currently on 195 80 15. What can I go upto?

215/80 15 i think is the biggest without mods.

No scrubbing?

No but i wouldnt advise going any wider without wheel spacers otherwise they might scrub. I used to run 235/70 16 compared to 225/55/17 which were standard fitment and they didnt scrub at all, now gone to 205/80 16 as there is a much wider range of tyres available.
