Help in Lymington.

Can any one suggest somebody to fix a 1996 Discovery in Lymington (Hampshire) My missis has a problem. The ignition comes on, but nothing else and it will not run the starter. I am in France, so can not help her.
It has a new starter fitted recently. She says there is no "click" or any thing when she turns the key to the start position. It is an auto, so could be the inhibiter or the starter relay perhaps.
The vehicle is safe where it is tonight, but she will need some one who can come out to have a look tomorrow. Can any one suggest a garage that can be trusted or some one else that could help please?

most likely a dodgy connection on the fly lead or alarm spider on its way out.

Many thanks. I have already fitted a new earth from the battery directly to the starter, but suspect the alarm unit. I gather on the automatics it is bound up with the electronic control of the injector pump, and not just the straight forward spider. I will have to investigate, and perhaps convert it to the older mechanical injector pump.
It appears after a while it stopped sulking, and agreed to start, so the problem is solved for now, but is clearly some thing for the future.

There's a Landy garage in Lymington. On the industrial estate with a Texaco/Co-op petrol station near the entrance to it... Was down ther working last week. Lymington Enterprise Centre??.

Don't know what they're like, but it's worth a look.

Theres paul light land rovers just down the road in Hordle, have been there a few times they're pretty helpful.

tell me to mind my own but if you go out the country alot you could do with brake down cover for the wife :hug:

Its the other way round, she has gone to England for a short while. The Discovery is French registered. There is breakdown cover, but with the French insurance co. Can engage them if all else fails, but it may be easier just to take it somewhere local if they can be trusted not to take advantage.
But thanks all for the suggestions, which we can investigate. At the moment it is running.

Didn't know you could buy it?

My wife has breakdowns every four weeks, can I get paid out on the insurance when that happens? if so, PMT doesn't seem that bad after all.
